St. John's is very proud of it's Pennsylvania German heritage. To honor our history, every year we dedicate an entire Sunday to a Dutch Day celebration. The service, including the sermon, is provided in Pennsylvania Dutch (and includes an English translation). After the service there is a Dutch themed luncheon complete with a guest musican. As you can see in the photos below, the members of St. John's do an excellent job decorated the sanctuary for this special service. The pews are covered with quilts, the majority of which have been quilted by members of the church. This year's Dutch Day was on September 23 and the theme was "General Store" so there were many antique containers and signs on display.
Please keep an eye out for news on next year's Dutch Day service!
